17 day Student trip in Ecuador including 5 days in Galapagos     

This trip is created specifically to provide students and travelers on a limited budget the opportunity to thoroughly explore Ecuador . You will become familiar with the Ecuadorian culture, trek through a varity of beautiful landscapes, and explore the jungle. The excursions are combined with day trips from Quito, spanish lessons, and salsa lessons. You will, of course, travel to the wonderful Galapagos -Islands. Unforgetable days await everyone there. You will see animal and bird species found no where else in the world!

Day 1 (Saturday)
Arrive in Quito; transfer from airport to family, check-in and family stay .

Day 2 (Sunday)
The whole day is yours to acclimate to the altitude and discover Quito. 2 meals and family stay.

Day 3 ( Monday)
Breakfast. Spanish lessons from 8.30am - 12.30pm. In the afternoon 1 hour of salsa lessons. Dinner and family stay.

Day 4 (Tuesday)
Breakfast. Spanish lessons from 8.30am - 12.30pm.   Afterwards,   we will drive to Midad del Mundo which also includes a visit to the nearby Museum "Museo Inti Ñan in Situ". From the museum we will continue to the crater   "Pululahua" where we will have a box-lunch. If you want to, you can take a short walk to explore a bit more. We will drive back in the early evening. Dinner and family stay.

Day 5 (Wednesday)
Breakfast. Spanish lessons from 8.30am - 12.30pm. In the afternoon 1 hour of salsa lessons.   In the evening we will conduct a guided city tour of the colonial section of Quito. Afterwards, we will stop for an appertizer in a restaurant with a magnificent night view of Quito. Return to La Lengua. Family stay.

Day 6 (Thursday)
Breakfast.   Afterwards,   accompanied by several spanish teachers, we will travel to the indigenous market of Saquisilí. We will travel along the famous "Volcano Avenue" with a magnificent view of many of Ecuador's volcanos.   At the market you will experience firsthand how the indigenous trade and sell their goods. You will have the opportunity to practice spanish with not only the spanish teachers but the people of Saquisili. At noon we will have a box-lunch and then drive back to Quito. Back in Quito you will have another 2 hours of spanish lessons. Dinner and family stay.

Day 7 (Friday)
Breakfast. Afterwards, we will head out once more with our spanish teachers to visit Papallacta.   Papallacta contains some of the most beautiful natural hot springs in Ecuador. You can relax in the hot baths while gazing at the prisitine mountains that surround you. In the afternoon we will return to Quito in time for your 1 hour salsa lesson. Dinner. Family stay.                                                                                                           

Day 8 (Saturday)
Accompanied by our spanish teaches, we will leave at 6:00am for Otavalo which is the site of the most popular indian market in Ecuador. There you will find all type of textiles, crafts, and food. In the early afternoon we will return to Quito. Dinner followed by "Salsa Night". Family stay.

Days 9 - 13 (Sunday - Thursday)
Breakfast. Transfer to the airport and flight to Santa Cruz, Galapagos. Transfer to our ship category "turista" ( max. 16 passengers ) and check in. In the next 5 days you will experience the fascinating world of the Galapagos.   You will be able to see animals, birds, and flora unique to these islands up close. Itinerary: Day 1: Baltra, Bachas Beach, Day 2: Plazas, Santa Fe, Day 3: Española, Day 4: Floreana, Day 5: Charles Darwin Station, Highlands ( Santa Cruz )

Day 13 (Thursday)
Morning check out from the boat and transfer to the airport. Flight to Quito. Transfer to family. Dinner and family stay.

Days 14 - 16 ( Friday - Sunday)
Breakfast. In the morning we will head out to Puerto Quito - Sendero del Jaguar. This is a lodge surounded by rainforest where you will experience the feeling of weekend adventure. You will sleep in basic cabañas and 2 meals per day are included. You will be able to hike about and visit a waterfall where you can brave the water and go for a swim. You will also be able to enjoy the nearby river as you go tubing down its rapids.

Day 16 (Sunday)
Breakfast.   Return to Quito. Transfer to family. Dinner and family stay.

Day 17 (Monday)
Breakfast. Transfer to airport and flight to your next destination.
